Prajwal Revanna’s Mother Seeks Anticipatory Bail In Kidnapping Case

Bhavani Revanna, mother of Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, who is implicated in an explicit video case, has petitioned for anticipatory bail in a kidnapping case for which her husband was previously apprehended.

She has approached the Karnataka High Court seeking protection from arrest by the Special Investigative Team (SIT), which has brought charges against five individuals, including her husband and Prajwal Revanna’s father, HD Revanna.

HD Revanna was previously taken into custody in connection with a kidnapping case on April 29 but was subsequently granted conditional bail by a special court for elected officials. The case, filed on April 28 at the Holenarasipura town police station, revolves around allegations of sexual misconduct by Revanna and his son Prajwal Revanna against a domestic worker.

In response, Prajwal Revanna has stated in a self-recorded video released recently that he intends to present himself for questioning by the SIT on May 31. He clarified that his travel plans were arranged prior to the emergence of any legal issues since there were no charges against him during the Karnataka general elections held on April 26. He also asserted that there is a political conspiracy against him as he climbs the political ladder.

Moreover, he extended apologies to his family, party supporters, and the people of the state. Prajwal Revanna emphasized his cooperation with the SIT investigation and expressed confidence in the judiciary. He reaffirmed his commitment to appear before the SIT on May 31.

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi twice in May, urging action to revoke Prajwal Revanna’s diplomatic passport. The MP is alleged to have traveled to Europe after facing accusations of exploiting several women.

It’s noteworthy that Revanna is running for re-election as an NDA candidate in the 2024 general elections from the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka.
