Prajwal Revanna, the suspended JD(S) MP from Hassan facing numerous allegations of sexual abuse, has been sent to 6-day police custody. He was questioned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) upon his arrival at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru early Friday morning.
The 33-year-old MP, who arrived from Munich, was immediately taken to the CID office for interrogation, according to SIT sources.
Revanna, who reportedly left the country on the night of April 26 amid the circulation of numerous compromising video clips allegedly involving him, released a video message on Monday stating that he would appear before the SIT on May 31.
In a significant disclosure, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar revealed that the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) received a request to impound Revanna’s passport only on May 21, after he had fled to Germany amidst the sexual assault allegations.
