Police arrests PFI state secretary Riyaz Maroof in Bihar

Riyaz Maroof alias Bablu, the state secretary of the Popular Front of India (PFI) and a wanted man by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), was detained on Saturday by Motihari police. Kantesh Mishra, the Motihari SP, reported that Riyaz Maroof, one of PFI’s key agents, had been detained.
The Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) and NIA personnel have been looking for Riyaz, who gained notoriety following the Phulwari Terror Model, for a considerable amount of time, according to SP Mishra.
He added that a complaint had been opened in the Phulwari police station against him.
On the orders of SP Kantesh Mishra, the Chakia police took Riyaz into custody at the Chakia Shubhash Chowk. Riyaz is currently being questioned by the district police, according to SM Mishra, at an undisclosed location.
“Information about Riyaz’s arrest was given to NIA and ATS,” SP Mishra stated.
The NIA has conducted in-depth investigations in the matter involving the illegal and anti-national acts of PFI members.
The radical organization was raising a PFI Army by radicalizing and indoctrinating youth through false and communal narratives, at the command of anti-national forces operating from across the border, to wage war against the country. It had previously arrested 15 of the defendants in the current case and had also seized several incriminating articles and documents relating to the radical organization.
The accused had been supporting the PFI’s violent and illegal ideology and actions while also funneling illicit monies from other countries to PFI members or, in this case, the accused individuals, who were then employed to commit violent terrorist crimes.
Investigations by the CIA have also revealed the PFI’s nefarious plans, which included setting up camps for training in terrorism and the use of firearms to teach radicalized youth how to terrorize and exact revenge on their “enemies.”
