Police have solved the mystery of the murder of cab driver Satbir Singh (31), a resident of village Kandala, who was missing since September 12th in Mohali, Punjab. It was revealed that he was having an affair with a woman.
The police have arrested Major Singh, his wife and son Karanveer who belong to the same village. Major’s friend Karna was also involved in this and is currently missing. According to the police, cab driver, Satbir Singh had illicit relations with the wife of the main accused, Major Singh. When Major Singh came to know about this, there was a lot of fighting in his house. Satbir’s mobile number was blacklisted in his wife’s phone. Even after this, he was repeatedly trying to meet the woman. When the cab driver was unable to talk and meet Major Singh’s wife, he sent Major Singh, an obscene picture of his wife. A demand of Rs 10 lakh was made by threatening to make her photos and videos viral. Major Singh became more enraged at this.
On September 12, Major Singh had called cab driver Satbir Singh to a liquor vend at Airport Chowk to take Rs 10 lakh. Major Singh also called his friend Karna there. Here both of them gave liquor to Satbir Singh. When he became drunk, both of them together murdered him. Major and Karna had planned and thrown Satbir’s cab into the canal.
He had tied Satbir to the back seat of his taxi. After that, the vehicle was thrown in the Kanda Khaidi canal near Rajpura. Major Singh told the police that he had jumped from the speeding car after reaching the bank of the canal and the car had fallen inside the canal. After throwing the car into the canal, Major Singh called his son Karanveer Singh to the bank of the canal. From there the accused Major, his friend Karan and his son Karanveer, all three returned together.
