Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Russia next week to attend the 16th BRICS Summit, which will be held on October 22-23 in Kazan. The summit, chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will bring together leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa to discuss global challenges and foster cooperation among BRICS nations.

This year’s summit theme, “Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security,” emphasizes the importance of international collaboration in addressing pressing global governance issues.

According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the summit will offer a valuable opportunity to review the progress of BRICS initiatives and explore future areas of cooperation.

Modi’s visit marks his second trip to Russia this year, following an earlier visit to Moscow in July. BRICS, established in 2009, initially comprised Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, and has since expanded to include Middle Eastern countries, including Iran.
