PM Modi to launch several development projects in Telangana, Tamil Nadu today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is commencing a three-day tour of Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bengal, and Bihar. The visit aims to inaugurate and launch various developmental projects across diverse sectors.

In Telangana, the Prime Minister is set to unveil projects in the power, rail, and road sectors, totaling over Rs. 56,000 crores. The focus is primarily on the power sector, including the dedication of NTPC’s 800 MW (Unit-2) to the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project and the inauguration of 660 MW (Unit-2) of North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project in Jharkhand.

The projects also involve initiatives such as the Fly Ash Based Light Weight Aggregate Plant in Chhattisgarh, STP Water to Green Hydrogen Plant in Uttar Pradesh, and various others across states. Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation’s 380 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan and lay the foundation for Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited’s 1200 MW Jalaun Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park in Uttar Pradesh.

In the rail sector, the electrified Ambari – Adilabad – Pimpalkhuti rail line will be dedicated, while road sector projects include the foundation laying for two significant national highway projects connecting Telangana with Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.

Moreover, the Prime Minister will visit BHAVINI in Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu, witnessing the core loading of India’s indigenous Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) of 500 MWe capacity. This marks a historic milestone in India’s nuclear power program, emphasizing thorium utilization in the country’s three-stage nuclear power program. Once operational, India will be the second country, after Russia, with a commercial operating Fast Reactor.
