PM Modi to Inaugurate Development Projects Worth Over Rs 42,000 Crore

Preparations were in full swing in Azamgarh ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, which is scheduled for Sunday. Security measures had been heightened across the state in anticipation of his arrival.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for various development initiatives totaling more than Rs 42,000 crore. This includes the inauguration and foundation stone laying for 15 airport projects across the country, valued at over Rs 9,800 crore.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate 12 new terminal buildings at airports in Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Adampur. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for three new terminal buildings at Kadapa, Hubballi, and Belagavi airports.

These new terminal buildings will have a combined capacity to serve 620 lakh passengers annually, while the three terminal buildings for which the foundation stone is being laid will increase the combined passenger handling capacity of these airports to 95 lakh passengers per annum. These terminal buildings will feature state-of-the-art amenities and sustainability features such as insulated roofing systems, energy-saving canopies, and LED lighting, among others.

In line with his vision of providing housing for all, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the Light House Project (LHP) in Lucknow and Ranchi. These projects consist of more than 2000 affordable flats built with modern infrastructure, providing families with a sustainable and futuristic living experience. Similar LHPs were earlier inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Chennai, Rajkot, and Indore.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate to the nation and lay the foundation stone for several road projects in Uttar Pradesh, totaling around Rs 11,500 crore. These projects aim to improve connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and promote socioeconomic development in the region.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation approximately 744 rural road projects worth more than Rs 3700 crore, constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. These projects will see the construction of over 5400 km of rural roads in Uttar Pradesh, benefiting approximately 59 districts and enhancing connectivity in the state.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for multiple rail projects worth around Rs 8200 crore, aimed at strengthening rail infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. This includes the inauguration of a new rail line from Ghazipur City and Ghazipur Ghat to Tarighat, including a rail bridge over the river Ganga, as well as the flagging off of a MEMU train service between Ghazipur City-Tarighat-Dildar Nagar Jn.

Additionally, he will inaugurate multiple sewage treatment plants and other projects in Prayagraj, Jaunpur, and Etawah, furthering the development initiatives in these regions.
