The Yellow Line of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro will be inaugurated on August 10, 2025, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and it has received tremendous anticipation. This 19.15 km long corridor from RV Road to Bommasandra passes through significant areas like Electronics City, BTM Layout, and Silk Board Junction. The project comprises 16 stations completed at a cost of ₹5,056.99 crore, aimed at handling 8 lakh commuters daily and alleviating traffic considerably in southern Bengaluru.

Phase-3 expansion, which involves a 44.65 km development of the metro corridor, will also kick-start during the inauguration ceremony. ₹15,611 crore are estimated to be spent on the public transit infrastructure improvement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open Bengaluru’s much awaited Yellow Line Metro on August 10th, according to a statement made by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Sunday. Surya thanked the Prime Minister for his continuous dedication to improving Bengaluru’s infrastructure while sharing the “X” update.

Enhancement in Technology and Train Operation

Driverless trains at a 25-minute interval will be put into operation on the Yellow Line, strongly enhancing service capacity across all 16 stations. It is this development that is being pursued by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to upgrade the transit system in order to offer a viable alternative to road transport.

Independent Certifications like Safety acceptance, including Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) and clearance from Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), was accorded to the line, making it eligible for a launch into public service on August 15, 2025.

Surya also cited a comment made by Manohar Lal Khattar, the Union Minister of Urban Affairs. Khattar stated that during the ceremony on August 10, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the ₹15,611 crore project of 44.65 km of Metro Phase-3 expansion in addition to launching the Yellow Line.
