Enhancement in Technology and Train Operation
Driverless trains at a 25-minute interval will be put into operation on the Yellow Line, strongly enhancing service capacity across all 16 stations. It is this development that is being pursued by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to upgrade the transit system in order to offer a viable alternative to road transport.
Independent Certifications like Safety acceptance, including Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) and clearance from Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), was accorded to the line, making it eligible for a launch into public service on August 15, 2025.
Surya also cited a comment made by Manohar Lal Khattar, the Union Minister of Urban Affairs. Khattar stated that during the ceremony on August 10, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the ₹15,611 crore project of 44.65 km of Metro Phase-3 expansion in addition to launching the Yellow Line.
