PM Modi to Attend Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) celebrations on Thursday in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. This event commemorates Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, celebrated each year on October 31.

Floral Tribute and Parade Activities

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the program will feature an Indian Air Force flypast. First, Modi will pay tribute with flowers at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia. Following this, he will lead the Ekta Diwas pledge and observe the Ekta Diwas Parade. This parade will showcase 16 marching contingents from nine states, one union territory police force, four central armed police forces, and the National Cadet Corps.

Exciting Highlights of the Celebration

The event promises several exciting highlights. These include the NSG Hell March and thrilling motorcycle performances by BSF and CRPF male and female bikers. Additionally, there will be a demonstration of Indian martial arts by the BSF and a pipe band performance by schoolchildren. The Indian Air Force’s ‘Surya Kiran’ flypast will also take place.

PM Modi’s Two-Day Visit to Gujarat

Narendra Modi is currently on a two-day visit to Gujarat. On Wednesday, he inaugurated several development projects in Kevadia, totaling over ₹284 crore. These initiatives aim to boost tourism, enhance accessibility, and promote sustainability in the region.

New Tourism Attractions Unveiled

Among the projects launched are new tourism and attraction centers. These developments will help elevate Ekta Nagar’s status as a premier tourist destination. In July 2024, a sculpture symposium with SAPTI resulted in 24 sculptures inspired by “water, nature, and unity.” These sculptures have been installed in public areas, enhancing the area’s appeal.

Modi Encourages Young Civil Servants

During his visit, Modi held discussions with young civil servants. He encouraged them to improve governance through ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (people’s participation). He also urged them to focus on enhancing citizens’ ‘Ease of Living.’ Modi shared these insights while addressing the Officer Trainees of the 99th Common Foundation Course, ‘Aarambh 6.0,’ held near the Statue of Unity. This year’s theme is ‘Roadmap for Atma Nirbhar and Viksit Bharat,’ with 653 trainees participating from 16 Indian civil services and three from Bhutan.

Infrastructure and Renewable Energy Initiatives

Modi inaugurated the first phase of a walkway connecting Bus Khadi (Bus Bay) to Viewpoint-1. He also opened a newly constructed road from Ekta Dwar to Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan. Additionally, he launched a four-megawatt solar project worth ₹23.26 crore, advancing Ekta Nagar toward green energy. An official release noted, “With these projects, Ekta Nagar is set to become a national model, not only for tourism but also for sustainable development and civic facilities.”

Future Vision

Finally, Modi toured displays showcasing various development initiatives for Ekta Nagar. His visit emphasizes a commitment to building a sustainable and inviting destination for visitors.
