
PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate new metro routes in Kolkata on August 22, boosting urban connectivity and easing travel for commuters across the city.
A two-state tour of Kolkata and Bihar is scheduled for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 22. During the visit, PM Modi will inaugurate a series of projects which aim towards boosting infrastructure, travel, and development in the region.
The prime minister will inaugurate a 13.6 km metro corridor. It will begin at the Noapara-Jai Hind Bimanbandar service at Jessore Road Metro Station. ANI reported that he will also travel on the newly launched airport route.

PM Modi will also launch the Sealdah–Esplanade metro line and the Beleghata–Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stretch through video conferencing. Additionally, he will inaugurate a subway at Howrah Metro Station and lay the foundation of the 6-foot long Kona Expressway worth Rs. 1,200 crore to enhance the connectivity between Kolkata, Howrah, and nearby towns.
PM Modi will also unveil projects worth around Rs. 13,000 crore in Bihar focused on roads, infrastructure, healthcare, and rural development.

Along with this, PM Modi will also flag off the Amrit Bharat Express en route Gaya-Delhi, and the Buddhist Train en route Vaishali-Koderma. He will distribute keys to beneficiaries of the PMAY.
