This meeting comes on the back of thrilling political action. The latest move is that by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who has resigned for health reasons, but that resignation has opened a Pandora’s Box of theorizing and gossiping in political circles. The Congress party wants the Prime Minister to talk to Dhankhar since they have a gut feeling that the resignation was borne out of something rottener that cannot be easily visible.
Ahead of the state’s Assembly elections, the opposition has demanded a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar, which has caused a stalemate in Parliament.
The timing of PM Modi’s meeting with President Murmu assumes significance as it could probably have discussions relating to what is politically currently on the drawing board. Yet, at this juncture, without an official statement, the substance of the conversation sits in the void.
