PM Modi Joins Christmas Celebrations At Union Minister George Kurian’s Home

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday joined the Christmas celebrations at the residence of Union Minister George Kurian in Delhi, where he was warmly greeted and had the opportunity to engage with leading figures of the Christian community.

“Attended the Christmas celebrations at the residence of Union Minister Shri George Kurian Ji. Also interacted with eminent members of the Christian community,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

PM Modi received a warm reception at the residence of the Kurian family, where he was presented with a bouquet of flowers. During the celebration, he also participated in lighting candles and enjoyed various performances.

Meanwhile, the Santhome Cathedral Basilica in Chennai was adorned with vibrant lighting in preparation for the Christmas festival.

Christmas, an annual celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, is observed by billions of people worldwide on December 25 as both a religious and cultural event. On Christmas Eve, people across India gather for midnight masses, churches are illuminated, and revelers set off fireworks to welcome the festive season.

The occasion is marked by various traditions, including decorating Christmas trees, adorning homes with lights and wreaths, and spending quality time with loved ones. The day is filled with warm family gatherings, festive meals, carol singing, and the joy of dazzling Christmas decorations, all of which bring people together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
