Amid high-octane exchanges in Parliament over Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to Rahul Gandhi’s pointed challenge about U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Speaking during the ongoing Lok Sabha session, PM Modi said:

“No leader in the world asked India to stop.”

This remark came shortly after Rahul Gandhi had dared the Prime Minister to publicly declare Donald Trump “a liar” if his claims were false. Gandhi had questioned the Modi government’s silence over Trump’s repeated assertions of mediating peace, stating:

“If he (Modi) has the courage, he will say here in Parliament that Donald Trump is a liar.”

Without directly naming Trump, PM Modi’s statement was seen as a firm rebuttal to the controversy, underlining that India’s actions during Operation Sindoor had the implicit backing, or at least the respect, of the global community.

“The world is watching India. The world respects India’s actions,” Modi added, underscoring the government’s assertion of strategic independence.

This is a developing story. Prime Minister Modi is still addressing the House. Further details will follow.
