PM Modi Highlights Global Awe as Maha Kumbh 2025 Attracts 66 Crore Devotees

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the smooth conduct of the Maha Kumbh 2025, where a record crowd of more than 66 crore pilgrims descended upon the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. The 45-day celebration, which came to an end on Wednesday, attracted pilgrims from all corners of the country, an indicator of a strongly ingrained spiritual affinity.

PM Modi underscored that the grand festival reflected a nation accepting its cultural heritage and breaking away from a colonial mentality.

“The Maha Kumbh is over. The ‘mahayagna’ of togetherness is over,” he blogged, underscoring the importance of the festival, which occurs once every 12 years.

Realizing the challenges of hosting an event of such magnitude, the Prime Minister apologized for any lapses in catering to the devotees.

“I understand that it was not simple to arrange such a large event. I worship Maa Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati and pray to them that if we have been inadequate in our devotion, please pardon us. If we have been inadequate while serving the devotees, who are God to me, then I appeal to the public for forgiveness too,” he posted.

Despite adversity, such as the tragic stampede that left 30 people dead, the event was witnessed with effortless coordination by authorities.

A Global Wonder and Case Study for Management

PM Modi also pointed out that the Maha Kumbh has fascinated management and policy specialists across the globe.

“Today, there is no comparison to such a huge event in the entire world; there is no other example like this,” he said.

Youth Participation and Cultural Legacy

The Prime Minister also lauded the widespread involvement of young Indians at the Maha Kumbh as a reflection of their dedication to upholding cultural values.

“The youth of India coming forward to take part in the Maha Kumbh conveys a very large message. This reinforces the notion that the new generation of India is the custodian of our culture and values,” he added.

Praise for Yogi Adityanath and Prayagraj Residents

Thanking Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi appreciated the smooth conduct of the event.

“Being an MP from UP, I can proudly say that under the leadership of Yogi ji, the government, administration and the public together made this Maha Kumbh of unity a success,” PM Modi, who represents the Varanasi constituency in Lok Sabha, said.

He also thanked sanitation workers, police officials, boatmen, drivers, and chefs for their tireless work to ensure the success of the event.

A Historic Event for Future Generations

PM Modi finished by saying that Maha Kumbh 2025 has paved the way for future generations and broke a record with an attendance nearly two times the population of the United States.

“What has never occurred in the past decades occurred this time. It has set the foundation for many centuries to come,” he added.

The Maha Kumbh 2025 has certainly left an imprint on history, demonstrating India’s spiritual prowess and solidarity to the world.
