PM Modi Expresses Sorrow for Loss of Lives in MP Road Accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed profound sorrow over the tragic road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district, which claimed 13 lives and left 17 injured. A passenger bus collided with a dumper truck and caught fire on Guna-Aron road on Wednesday night, prompting immediate condolences from the Prime Minister.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office shared, “The road accident that occurred in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna is heartbreaking. My condolences to those who lost their lives in the accident. Along with this, I wish for the speedy recovery of all the people injured in this accident. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is engaged in providing every possible help to the victims.”

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, deeply moved by the incident, visited the Guna district hospital to meet the injured and pledged swift action against those responsible. The Chief Minister stated, “After analyzing the preliminary investigation, I have decided that the RTO will be suspended immediately for not conducting a checking on vehicles, and the CMO (Chief Municipal officer) will also be suspended for the delay in the arrival of the fire brigade. Strict actions will also be taken against the high-level officials responsible for the incident.”

MP K P Yadav, representing the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, commended the Chief Minister for his prompt response and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh for each family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for each injured person. He also mentioned the suspension of the RTO and CMO for negligence.

Guna Collector Tarun Rathi confirmed 13 fatalities and 17 injuries in the accident. Search efforts are underway for those missing, and two authorities have been suspended. A case has been registered against the bus driver and operator, adding a legal dimension to the aftermath of the tragic incident. The community remains in shock as the affected families grapple with the loss, and the state continues its efforts to provide support and accountability in the wake of the accident.
