PM Modi Checks On Congress Chief Kharge After Health Scare

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday, following news that Kharge fell ill during a public rally in Jammu and Kashmir. The Congress chief, aged 83, experienced dizziness while addressing the crowd in the Jasrota area of Kathua district.

Kharge Falls Ill During Rally

Kharge was delivering a speech when he began to feel unwell. According to Congress general secretary Gulam Ahmed Mir, Kharge’s colleagues quickly came to his aid, helping him sit down as he recovered from the dizzy spell.

“He was addressing the rally when he suddenly felt uneasy and dizzy. His colleagues helped him into a chair,” Mir said in a statement to PTI.

Modi’s Call to Check on Kharge

Following reports of the incident, Prime Minister Modi called Kharge to inquire about his health. The call reflected a moment of mutual respect between political rivals, despite the heated political climate.

Kharge Resumes Rally, Criticizes PM

After taking some rest, Kharge resumed his speech, reassuring the crowd that his determination remained strong. He reiterated his commitment to fight for the restoration of statehood in Jammu and Kashmir and took a direct swipe at the prime minister.

“We will fight to restore statehood. We are not going to leave it. I am 83 years old, I am not going to die so early. I will stay alive until PM Modi is removed from power,” Kharge declared.
