On the sixth day of the Parliament session, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the ruling party saying that PM Narendra Modi, RSS and BJP do not make up the entire Hindu community. Waiving a poster of Lord Shiva, he said, “If you look at Lord Shiva’s image you’d know that Hindus never spread fear, hatred but BJP spreads fear and hatred 24X7.” His remarks were countered by PM Narendra Modi who said “Calling Hindus violent inside the Parliament is a serious issue.” However, the Congress scion quickly remarked that BJP and RSS “aren’t the entire Hindu society.”
He further stated that all religions convey the message of not fearing anyone. He also mentioned the ‘Hand’ symbol, which is the Congress party’s symbol. The Congress scion further targeted PM Modi, saying, “The PM says that (Mahatma) Gandhi is dead and Gandhi was revived by a movie. Can you understand the ignorance?… Another thing I noticed is that it is not just one religion that talks about courage. All religions talk about courage.”
