PM Modi announces development projects, criticises BRS

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Telangana, indirectly criticised the ruling BRS government, suggesting Telangana wants a change from false promises to transparent governance. Addressing the crowd, he emphasised the BJP’s commitment to the state’s growth and welfare.
Adding to the agenda of change, Modi introduced significant developmental initiatives for Telangana, including the establishment of a Central Tribal University in Mulugu District. The university, representing a commitment of Rs 900 crore from the Centre, will honour tribal goddesses “Samakka and Sarakka.”
A key announcement was the establishment of the National Turmeric Board, fulfilling a longstanding demand from the turmeric farmers of Nizamabad.
The exact location of this board remains unspecified. The move is particularly poignant as the need for such a board had been a prominent election issue in the past, with BJP’s D Arvind highlighting the ruling party’s failure to fulfil this promise.
Modi also laid the foundation for infrastructure projects in Mahabubnagar, worth over Rs 13,500 crore. Key initiatives include significant road projects forming part of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor, the inauguration of the Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline, and a multi-product petroleum pipeline project by BPCL.
Additionally, five new buildings for Hyderabad University and the Hyderabad (Kacheguda)-Raichur-Hyderabad train service were inaugurated, further underlining the Centre’s commitment to the region’s growth and development.
