PM Modi Accuses Congress of Being Controlled by ‘Urban Naxals,’ Favors Infiltrators Over Citizens

In a fierce criticism of the Congress party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday claimed that the party is under the influence of “Urban Naxals” who prioritize foreign infiltrators as “vote banks” while neglecting their own citizens. Addressing a rally in Jammu, PM Modi accused Congress of disrespecting the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and said that the party has been hijacked by those who support anti-national elements.

“The Congress party has never truly honored the sacrifices of our brave soldiers. Today, it is under the control of Urban Naxal sympathizers who welcome foreign infiltrators as ‘vote banks’ and mock the struggles of our own people,” PM Modi stated.

He further alleged that Congress, along with the National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), have historically done injustice to the Jammu region and engage in appeasement politics.

“Congress, NC, and PDP are upset with the changes happening in Jammu and Kashmir. They oppose development and say they will bring back the old system if elected. They want to reinstate the same discriminatory policies that have been detrimental to Jammu. They have always wronged Jammu for their political gain and appeasement,” he said.

PM Modi also blamed the Congress party for the hardships faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir due to flawed policies and neglect over the years.

“For decades, Congress, NC, and PDP have prioritized their leaders and families over the people of Jammu and Kashmir, causing immense suffering. Congress is largely responsible for exploiting and neglecting our generations. But I assure you that with BJP’s commitment to prosperity, we will work tirelessly to correct these injustices. The Congress party has consistently questioned our military’s credibility, even after the surgical strikes. Can we ever forgive such betrayal? Never!” he added.

The Prime Minister further accused the Congress of undermining the Constitution and failing to protect the rights of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Today, Congress is fully controlled by Urban Naxalites. They welcome foreign infiltrators, seeing them as potential votes, while ignoring the suffering of their own people. Congress, NC, and PDP are enemies of the Constitution. Here in Jammu, families who have lived for generations were denied voting rights. This injustice was imposed by Congress, NC, and PDP,” he said.

PM Modi also criticized Congress for opposing the 2016 surgical strike against Pakistan and demanding proof of the operation.

“This is a new India, we strike at the enemy’s home. Remember when bullets were fired from across the border, and Congress responded with white flags? But when the BJP government retaliated, they realized we meant business,” he said, recalling the armed forces’ strikes against terrorist camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

Elections in Jammu and Kashmir are being held in three phases. The first phase took place on September 18, and the second on September 25 across six districts including Ganderbal, Budgam, Srinagar, Rajouri, Reasi, and Poonch. The final phase of voting is scheduled for October 1, with the results set to be announced on October 8. This is the first Assembly election in the Union Territory since the abrogation of Article 370 and the first after a decade.
