PTI reports that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has ordered Patanjali Foods Ltd to withdraw a particular set of packed red chilli powder. The company noted the recall in a regulatory document and listed violation of food safety criteria.

FSSAI has told Patanjali Foods to start recalling the whole batch of suspect food (i.e., Red Chilli Powder packed). the company stated – AJD2400012 due to non-conformance of 2011 Food Safety and Standards (Contaminants, Toxins and Residues) Regulations, &.

Among India’s major FMCG corporations is Patanjali Foods, which was founded in 1986 and is part of Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved group as well formerly called Ruchi Soya. Operating under brands including Patanjali, Ruchi Gold, and Nutrela, the company sells goods in industries including edible oils, food and FMCG, and wind power generation.

Patanjali Foods stated in September quarter a stand-alone net profit of 21 percent, totalling ₹308.97 crore according to PTI. This represents an increase from ₹254.53 crores for the same timeframe last year. Compared to the corresponding year’s quarter and given ₹7,845.79 crore, the company’s total income for the second quarter of the current fiscal year went up to 8,198.52 crore.

The recall highlights the great need of following food safety laws to maintain quality of product and protect customer trust.
