Elderly man balances in headstand during light rain on railway platform, unfazed by surrounding commuters.
Yoga is a widely practiced activity in India, from morning park routines to evening sessions on rooftops at sunset. Still, a recent video of a man performing a headstand under light rain on a railway platform still managed to surprise the internet.
The video, which appeared on Reddit, demonstrates an old man cheerfully performing sirsasana (headstand) right on a train platform, totally oblivious to the drizzle. Without any umbrella or mat, he balanced himself and remained attentive even when others around the opposite platform gazed and captured him on their cameras.
Uploaded by the user @PeepalGhost with the caption, "Waiting for the train and saw an old Man doing Yoga on the platform while it was raining," the image gained popularity in a short time. The uploader continued that the man was doing several poses, but only one scene was videotaped.
Internet is flooded with photos and videos of yoga enthusiasts bending in unique places. It's obvious that yoga is a way of life to many people, no matter the location.
The Reddit clip sparked a string of reactions, the majority applauding the man's peace of mind and devotion. One of the commenters, @unbiased_crook, had joked, "We all need such a coping mechanism before catching a train in India."
Someone said, "Only in India", while another commended the dedication of the man."
A social media user @Mysterious-Grape-199 said, "That's kinda cool not gonna lie."
The other user, @creativextacy, humorously added, "All I can see is a dude who left his umbrella behind and is holding his head dry in the rain!"
