Bhubaneswar, November 5: In a disturbing incident in Bhadrak district, Odisha, unknown assailants allegedly fired bullets at a moving train on Tuesday, prompting an investigation by the Government Railway Police (GRP). Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident, which occurred near Charampa station.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) ensured the safety of the Nandan Kanan Express and escorted it to Puri, as detailed in a statement from the Railways. The statement explained, “The guard of the 12816 Anand Vihar-Puri Nandan Kanan Express reported that the window of the guard van was struck by something that pierced through it.”
According to reports, the incident unfolded in the Bhadrak-Baudpur section of Odisha around 9:30 AM, shortly after the train departed from Bhadrak station at approximately 9:25 AM. A senior GRP official stated that efforts are underway to identify those responsible for the alleged shooting, and the motives behind the act remain unclear.
