Odisha sculptor creates Ram Mandir replica using matchsticks

Saswat Ranjan, a sculpture from Odisha made a replica of the Ram Temple of Ayodhya ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishthan’ ceremony using only matchsticks in Puri. The artist said,  “It took six days to complete this replica of Ayodhya’s Ram mandir. I used a total of 936 matchsticks to finish this project. The Ram Mandir replica has a length of 14 inches and a width of seven inches. I don’t think that it is possible to make a Ram Mandir replica using matchsticks smaller than this.” Ranjan further expressed his wish to present the replica to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of ‘Ram Lalla’ is a historic moment that will commence in the presence of PM Modi, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, saints, and a host of distinguished guests.

The ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’ ensured that the ceremony will take place on January 22 after a remarkable musical event titled ‘Mangal Dhwani.’ The event will feature some of the major music artists of the industry. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony will commence at 12:30 pm. To celebrate the greatest event of the decade, Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh are enchantingly decorated with flowers as well as Lord Ram and Hanuman flags.

Distinguished personalities from various realms, including cricket, film, saint society, politics, art, literature, culture, and other fields, have been extended invitations to attend the upcoming ceremony. The commencement of Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya took place on January 16, marking the initiation of the significant event, a week ahead of the main ceremony.
