NEW DELHI: Globally renowned holistic nutrition and lifestyle expert Luke Coutinho here today at the NXT Conclave organized by the ITV Network made the special announcement about ‘The Modi Dish’—an Indian superfood prepared by using indigenous millet, which is not only palatable but also loaded with nutrition.

Speaking about the rising obesity crisis, Coutinho called for immediate action. He noted that obesity, diabetes, and prediabetes are becoming widespread, emphasizing the need for early education and proper nutrition from childhood. He supported PM Modi’s call for a healthier nation, urging awareness through education in diverse languages.
Coutinho also advocated for the consumption of local superfoods like desi ghee and millets, which are rich in essential nutrients. He praised Modi’s promotion of millets and acknowledged India’s leadership in the UN’s declaration of 2023 as the International Year of Millets. India cultivates all nine traditional millets, including sorghum, pearl millet, and finger millet, which provide significant health benefits.
Highlighting government initiatives, he spoke about the portion tracker nutrition program and the need to reduce edible oil consumption by 10-15%.
