The Delhi Police Special Cell have arrested Deepak Tehlan, alias Manoj, a sharpshooter associated with the infamous Nandu gang that the police have been trying to crack given their links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Acting on a tip-off, the Special Cell successfully arrested Tehlan from Madanpur Khadar in Northwest Delhi on Monday.
Working on intelligence inputs that Tehlan planned to carry out criminal acts in the area, a team of officers was dispatched to Madanpur Khadar. During a combing operation, Tehlan was spotted seated in an e-rickshaw at Khadar Puliya Chowk.
The police nabbed him and discovered a single-shot pistol, along with two live cartridges, from his possession. A case was registered.
During the interrogation, Tehlan confessed to being a prominent member and sharpshooter of Kapil Sangwan, or the Nandu Gang. He has been involved in armed robberies in the South-West Delhi region, as per police records. In 2018, on Nandu›s order, Tehlan and other gang members attempted gangster Shiva’s assassination.
He was also involved in the firing incident at the residence of a property dealer named Rajbir in the Deenpur area of Delhi.
