Noida Tragedy: Unemployed Techie Ends Life Over Partner’s Alleged Taunts

In a heartbreaking incident, a 27-year-old engineer named Mayank Chandel died by suicide in Noida, leaving behind a note that highlighted the mental stress he endured due to unemployment and repeated taunts from his live-in partner.

According to NDTV, Chandel, originally from Jalalabad in Uttar Pradesh, mentioned in his note that his partner’s remarks about his joblessness, such as “sitting at home and eating all day,” deeply affected him. While citing these reasons for his decision, he explicitly stated he did not hold anyone responsible for his death.

Chandel had been in a relationship with a woman from Banda for seven years, living together in Noida’s Sector 73 for the past four years. His partner discovered his body hanging from a ceiling fan upon returning home from work on Friday evening. She immediately informed the police, who sent the body for a post-mortem and initiated an investigation.

This tragedy follows another shocking case involving a Bihar-based engineer, Atul Subhash, who worked in Bengaluru. Subhash also died by suicide earlier this week, leaving behind a 24-page note and a lengthy video accusing his wife of harassment. He alleged she demanded Rs 3 crore for a divorce settlement and, in his note, expressed his desire for justice, stating, “If the court decides that the corrupt judge and my wife and other harassers are not guilty, then pour my ashes into some gutter outside the court. Don’t do my ‘asthi visarjan’ till my harassers get punished.”

Both incidents have sparked outrage and brought attention to the increasing mental health struggles faced by individuals dealing with relationship and employment issues.
