A Noida resident, Puran Joshi, was deceived in a fraudulent scheme related to his electricity bill, resulting in a substantial loss of Rs 25 lakh. Puran Joshi received a message alerting him that he had not paid the electricity bill, due to which his electricity supply would be cut off at 9 pm.
Upon receiving the message, he contacted the number provided, where the fraudster instructed him to download the AnyDesk app. After downloading the app, the scammer gained access to his phone and stole Rs 27 lakh. This type of scam is not unique to Noida; it has affected people across various regions of the country.
