Police revealed Nikki Bhati’s Noida dowry death followed a fight over reopening her parlour. Husband Vipin opposed her reels and work, later setting her on fire.
28-year-old Nikki Bhati lost her life in a shocking dowry-related case. She was allegedly set ablaze by her husband and in-laws and later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. Police have now revealed the argument that led to the tragedy.
Officials say that Nikki expressed her wish to reopen a beauty parlour with her sister Kanchan on August 21, which led to a fight with her husband, Vipin. Despite his objections, Nikki stood firm. Officer Dharmandra Shukla from Kasna Police Station stated that around 3:30 pm, Nikki clearly stated that no one can stop her from reopening the parlour, which Bhati opposed.

Vipin told Nikki that she cannot make reels or run a beauty parlour. The argument escalated, and he began assaulting her. Two hours later, Nikki's family received a phone call from Kanchan, who told them that she had been set on fire. “We were informed by my sister Kanchan Bhati around 5.30 pm that she was burned alive by her husband Vipin Bhati, following a dowry dispute,” Nikki’s brother Rohit Gurjar said.
Nikki married Vipin in 2016, while her sister Kanchan was wed to his brother. About two years later, Nikki allegedly began facing demands for ₹35 lakh dowry and, due to repeated harassment, returned to her parental home multiple times.
