NIXI to Launch BhashaNet Portal on Universal Acceptance Day

The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) plans to launch the BhashaNet portal during the upcoming Universal Acceptance (UA) Day, aiming to enhance digital inclusion and encourage linguistic diversity across India.

Planned for March 21, the event will be held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in Delhi, showcasing the joint endeavors of NIXI and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to advocate for Universal Acceptance.

As per a press statement, this declaration comes after the effective collaboration between NIXI and MeitY, underscoring their shared dedication to nurturing digital inclusivity throughout the country.

The active support of UA Day is notably provided by both the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the Internet Governance division of MeitY, Government of India.

Themed “BhashaNet: Impetus Towards Universal Acceptance,” the event highlights NIXI’s dedication to ensuring that individuals, irrespective of language or script, can fully participate in the digital world.

Through UA Day, NIXI and MeitY aim to mobilize stakeholders and raise awareness about the significance of UA readiness in today’s digital landscape.

The event will showcase a range of interactive sessions, such as keynote speeches, panel debates, and technical workshops, guided by esteemed speakers from diverse sectors.

These discussions will center on the importance of UA and the essential measures required to achieve broad acceptance across linguistic boundaries.

S Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, Government of India, will grace the event as the Chief Guest, reaffirming the Government’s steadfast backing for digital inclusivity initiatives.

Furthermore, Shushil Pal, Joint Secretary of MeitY, Government of India, will also attend the event to advocate for digital inclusivity and Universal Acceptance.

Dr. Devesh Tyagi, CEO of NIXI, shared his excitement about the event, saying, “Universal acceptance is a pivotal aspect in our journey towards digital inclusivity. Through UA Day, we reinforce our commitment to bridging linguistic divides and ensuring every voice is heard in the digital sphere.”
