The Central government on Tuesday reorganized the composition of the Niti Aayog, including representatives from the National Democratic Alliance’s ally parties. Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the chairperson, with no changes to the Vice Chairman and other full-time members. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is now an ex officio member, while Union ministers JP Nadda, HD Kumaraswamy, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Ram Mohan Naidu, Jual Oram, Chirag Paswan, and Annapurna Devi have been added as special invitees.
“In continuation of Cabinet Secretariat notification… the Prime Minister has approved the revised composition of NITI Aayog,” a notification from the Rashtrapati Bhawan said.
Meanwhile, Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Anurag Thakur, who were inducted into the commission last year, did not retain their seats this year. According to a notification from Rashtrapati Bhawan, Suman K Bery will continue as the Vice Chairman of Niti Aayog, alongside full-time members VK Saraswat, Ramesh Chand, VK Paul, and Arvind Virmani.
