BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday referred to past instances of security breaches in the Lok Sabha, citing an intruder walking near former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, to emphasize that his party never attacked government officials or called for the Speaker’s resignation.
Dubey targeted the opposition for its response to the recent breach. He highlighted the 1974 incident when Ratan Lal entered the visitors’ gallery with a pistol, noting that the forerunner to the BJP, the Jana Sangh, never sought the Speaker’s resignation. Dubey asserted that the Lok Sabha Secretariat holds the responsibility for the security of the entire Parliament building. Amid opposition calls for Home Minister Amit Shah’s response, Dubey criticized the Congress and other parties, stating they should be “ashamed.”
MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday shared some past instances of Lok Sabha security breaches, including an intruder walking close to the then prime minister P V Narasimha Rao, to claim that his party never attacked government functionaries or sought the Speaker’s resignation, as he targeted the opposition for its reaction to the recent breach.
