A joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) killed nine Maoists during an encounter in the Dantewada district on Tuesday.
The operation was launched early in the day based on intelligence reports indicating the presence of Maoist forces in the area, according to officials.
The encounter, which began around 10:30 am, is still ongoing, and authorities have recovered a significant cache of weapons from the site, including a Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), a .303 Rifle, and a .315 Bore Rifle.
“So far, nine Maoists have been killed, and a large quantity of weapons has been recovered,” a police statement confirmed. “All the jawans involved in the operation are safe. The search operation is still underway, and further details will be shared after the operation is complete.”
This operation marks a substantial success in the ongoing fight against Maoist insurgency in the region. More updates are expected as the situation develops.
