NIA raids Punjab-Haryana to dismantle Khalistani network

In a renewed effort to dismantle the Khalistani network, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at approximately 15 locations across Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday. The operations targeted key figures associated with the separatist movement, including Sarabjit Singh CR Kang, the former district president of Lok Insaaf Party.
Sarabjit Singh CR Kang, known for his close ties with Gurlabh Singh in Moga, Punjab, and Simarjit Singh Bains in Khanna, Ludhiana, saw his residence and de-addiction centre under scrutiny during the NIA raids. Kang’s foreign connections were thoroughly investigated during the three-hour-long search at his residence in Bahomajra village, followed by a half-hour investigation at his de-addiction centre on GT Road Bhattian.
This move comes in the wake of previous actions taken by the NIA against Khalistani bases in various states. The agency has been actively engaged in an ongoing investigation into the Khalistani network, conducting similar raids in recent days.
Earlier in the week, the NIA targeted Gurlabh Singh’s residence in Jhandewala village, Chadik, Moga, where local police collaborated in the operation. Gurlabh Singh’s wife, Harpreet Kaur, underwent a thorough interrogation lasting approximately two and a half hours. She has been summoned to appear in Chandigarh on November 24 for further questioning.
In parallel developments, the Special Cell of Delhi Police apprehended Malak Singh from Kurukshetra, Haryana, a day prior. Singh, acting under the instructions of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, had inscribed pro-Khalistan slogans at Delhi’s ISBT bus stand on September 27. Pannu, the leader of the banned ‘Sikh for Justice,’ had tasked Singh with similar activities at various locations, including Delhi Airport, leading up to the final match of the Cricket World Cup.
The police, responding to the discovery of pro-Khalistan and anti-India slogans on the Kashmiri Gate flyover on September 27, registered an FIR in this regard. Raids are reportedly ongoing in Punjab as part of the broader investigation into these activities.
