In a significant development related to the NEET-UG controversy, students from Haryana centre, have this time scored above 682 in recently revised UG results.
Earlier, the six candidates from Haryana public centre of Jhajjar district, received perfect score of 720 out of 720. A result, which acted as a catalyst for country-wide protests. Subsequently, bringing the case of paper leak & alleged discrepancies to the fore.
Later, when the case was presented before supreme court, the scores got revised following retest directed by apex court.
As per city wise-centre-wise results declared by NTA just 13 students from Hardayal Public School centre, have acquired above 600 marks. Reports PTI.
On May 5th, the national Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG) was held at 4,750 exam centres. This examination witnessed the participation of 24 lakh students.
Even though, the results were supposed to be released on June 14. But citing early completion of evaluation process, NTA announced the results earlier on June 4.
But the controversy started, when 67 students (6 from Haryana centre) received a perfect & precise score 720/720.
Thus, implying the presence of discrepancies in the results. Later, it was alleged, that provision of grace marks aided many students in getting the top rank.
However, after many protests and controversy, NTA eventually held retest, following the removal of grace marks given to students. These marks were provided on the basis of delay in starting the exam at centres of Meghalaya, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Chandigarh.
