The company has said that New Delhi Television Ltd ( NDTV) founder Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy have resigned as the directors of promoter group vehicle RRPR Holding Private Limited.
RRPR, which the Adani Group acquired, owned a 29.18 percent stake in the news channel . The Roys have not left the board of the news channel, however, and still own a 32.26 percent stake in it as promoters.
The two have resigned as directors on the board of RRPR Holding Private Limited (RRPRH) with immediate effect, according to a stock exchange filing made late on Tuesday by New Delhi Television Ltd. Radhika Roy is an Executive Director of NDTV, while Prannoy Roy is the company’s Chairperson.
Sudipta Bhattacharya, Sanjay Pugalia, and Senthil Sinniah Chengalvarayan have been appointed as Directors on the board of RRPR Holding with immediate effect, according to NDTV. The RRPRH board authorised the resignations and appointments during its meeting on Tuesday. The three are representatives of the Adani Group, which this week took over RRPR Holdings.
Until now, RRPR, or Radhika Roy Prannoy Roy Holdings Private Limited, was categorised as a promoter entity. It owned a stake of 29.18% in the news channel. Radhika Roy and Prannoy Roy both own 16.32% of NDTV (together 32.26 per cent).
