Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said that narcotics worth more than Rs 101 crore had been destroyed in the state of Haryana on the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Narcotics worth Rs 25 crore were destroyed in Panchkula alone. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar disclosed this while interacting with the media persons after destroying narcotics at Bagwala village in the Panchkula district.
State Home and Health Minister Anil Vij, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, TVSN Prasad and Director General of Police, PK Agrawal were also present with the Chief Minister. While replying to a question, CM Khattar said that directions had been given to the police to tighten the noose around those involved in the smuggling of drugs in the state. Additionally, he said, having convened with Chief Ministers from neighbouring states, a strategy has been chalked out to take joint action against drug peddlers. Khattar said that Dabwali has been made a new Police District and would begin operations from 15 August.
