My experience in public life has helped me in Law: Nalin Kohli

Nalin Kohli advocate and BJP national spokesperson talked on India News Manch about how the professional experience in Law have helped him groom his views on public life and vice versa. He also talked about his journey calling it a mix of different experiences that have come together in helping him in his legal career.
Kohli said, “My experience in public life has helped me in law. My exposure to things had helped me in law and vice versa. Experience in law has helped me in public life because the legislative process, the executive process all of it finally finds the court and then the court explains it, narrow something or even modifies it in terms of ease and language because in law everything matters.”
Kohli added, “Law dominates and in some way or the other it matters in every facet of our life. Because of all these factors determined by law we live easily in a society. Therefore, a space governed by rule of law is important. My journey has been and is an interesting mix of experiences that have come together. Which has also helped me in my legal career. I started as a sort of journalist and after used to read English news on Doordarshan. I did it for almost 10 years from 93 to 2003. So communication I would say dominated the first 10 years of my life which has continued since then. I been on television since 1989. Then the second part was my exposure to public life.”
He also talked about his career in government administration. He said, “In terms of politics I was working in the government briefly in the rank of a joint secretary. There after working in the BJP as the co-convener of the media cell so I set up the media cell work after which it continued to grow and I finally became one of the spokespersons in the party. However, I make this distinction of being a man of law.”
