A tragic road rage incident occurred in Mumbai’s Malad on Saturday, resulting in the death of a 28-year-old man, identified as Akash Maeen, a worker with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. The incident unfolded when an auto-rickshaw driver collided with Akash’s car while attempting to overtake it.
Following the collision, an argument broke out between Akash and the auto driver, who subsequently left the scene. However, a group of men gathered in support of the auto driver and attacked Akash. The assault took place in front of his parents, with video footage showing Akash being beaten while his father tried to intervene and his mother shielding him with her body.
Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Akash succumbed to his injuries. Dindoshi Police reported that they have arrested nine individuals in connection with the incident, charging them under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder and other offenses. The arrested individuals will remain in police custody until October 22.
