Mumbai Police Suspects Saif Ali Khan’s Maid Let the Attacker Inside Home

Saif Ali Khan is currently under treatment at Lilavati Hospital after he was stabbed multiple times during an attack at his Bandra residence. The incident occurred around 2:30 am on Thursday when an intruder entered the actor’s home. Saif reportedly intervened in an altercation between the attacker and his domestic help, which led to the assault.

A statement issued by Saif’s team on Thursday afternoon confirmed that: “Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently under recovery, and the doctors are monitoring his improvement. All the family members are safe, and the police are investigating the matter.” According to Lilavati Hospital COO Niraj Uttamani, Saif has been moved to the ICU and will be here for a day.

Details of the Incident

The alleged intruder had gone to the residence in Bandra (West) and was said to have had an altercation with the domestic help of the actor. A Mumbai Police official, speaking with ANI, said, “When the actor tried to intervene and pacify the man, he attacked Saif Ali Khan and injured him.” Kareena Kapoor, wife of Saif, and their two sons, Taimur and Jeh, were in the house when he came there. Saif’s elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, took him to Lilavati Hospital at around 3:30 am.

Domestic Help Ties Under Scanner

Mumbai Police have further intensified their investigation, suspecting that the domestic help might have known the attacker and let him in. According to Indian Express, a police source said, “We suspect the help must have allowed him entry, and due to some reason, a fight took place.” She is being grilled by the local police to gain more information on the suspect. Seven local police teams are scouring for him.
The report further indicated that the suspect was held in one of the rooms, but managed to break free.

As investigations unfold, law enforcers are trying to bring in the perpetrator and establish what led to the attack.
