Mumbai Police’s Crime Unit 5 has apprehended a suspect in connection with the murder case where a woman’s body was discovered inside a suitcase in Kurla. The victim has been identified as a resident of the Dharavi area. The arrest comes after the police were alerted about an abandoned suitcase on CST Road at Shanti Nagar during work on a Metro project.
The discovery was made around 12:30 pm, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement. Upon inspecting the suitcase, the police found the lifeless body of the woman. The authorities have sent the body to a civic hospital for autopsy, and efforts are underway to establish the victim’s identity.
While the woman remains unidentified, initial estimations suggest her age to be between 25-35 years. She was found wearing a T-shirt and track pants. The investigation is actively utilizing CCTV footage from the area to gather more information.
The case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the police are diligently working to identify and apprehend those responsible for the heinous crime. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses.
