Multiple Delhi Schools Get Bomb Threats Again; Police Find No Explosives

Five top Delhi schools were issued bomb threats on Wednesday through email, the third straight day of such notices in the national capital. The authorities reacted quickly with mass-scale security operations, including bomb disposal units, dog squads, and cyber units. No suspicious material was discovered during inspections.

The schools threatened on Wednesday are St Thomas School in Dwarka, Vasant Valley School in Vasant Kunj, Mother's International School in Hauz Khas, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodi Estate, according to a report by news agency ANI.

The PTI reports that Dwarka school got the threat at 5:26 AM, and then came the Vasant Kunj school at 6:30 AM. In both instances, the emails sent bomb threats that were immediately acted upon by emergency response teams.

Police Say Nothing Suspicious Found, But Investigations Continue

Delhi Police teams, bomb disposal unit, and cyber specialists arrived at the schools early Wednesday and started extensive sweeps of the facilities. "The investigation is ongoing. Nothing has been detected as suspicious so far," Delhi Fire Department spokesman confirmed.

This is the second bomb threat in two days for Dwarka's St Thomas School, having concerns among students, parents, and teachers. "We also had a call at 8 am from St Thomas School in Dwarka. Fire tenders were quickly dispatched," said an official.

Earlier Threats Targeted Colleges and Schools

The threat wave started on July 14, with CRPF Public School at Dwarka Sector 16 and Navy School at Chanakyapuri being attacked. The incidents had prompted similar response measures, including evacuation of children and deployment of bomb squads.

On Tuesday, Delhi University's St Stephen's College also received a mail threatening a bomb, stating that four IEDs and two packets of RDX had been placed on the campus. No explosives were discovered after thorough searches.

Up to now, approximately 10 schools and one college have been targeted in three days. Authorities are continuing to investigate how the hoax threats originated and to guarantee the protection of the students and staff.
