Multiple CRPF Schools Targeted by Hoax Bomb Threats Across India

Late on Monday night, several Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) schools across the country received hoax bomb threats, raising concerns among authorities. The affected institutions include two schools in Delhi—one located in Rohini and the other in Dwarka—along with a school in Hyderabad.

Sources indicate that the threats were communicated via email to the management of these schools. The emails warned of a potential bomb blast in the classrooms at 11 AM on Tuesday. However, subsequent investigations have revealed the threats to be hoaxes.

Context of the Threats

The hoax threats emerged just a day after a blast occurred outside a CRPF school in Rohini, Delhi, on Sunday, which was claimed by a pro-Khalistani group. This incident has heightened security concerns in the capital. Following the blast in the Prashant Vihar school, which damaged nearby buildings and vehicles, Delhi Police contacted social media platforms and the messaging app Telegram to gather information about the post that made the threat.

Wider Implications for Security

This week has seen a rise in hoax bomb threats affecting both domestic and international flights, with over 90 flights reported to have received similar threats, most of which were later identified as false alarms. In response, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General RS Bhatti and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) Director General Zulfiqar Hasan met with Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan to discuss the series of threats and their implications for aviation security.

During their half-hour meeting, the officials underscored the importance of heightened vigilance and coordination among security agencies to address these ongoing security challenges effectively.
