In a civic duty demonstration, Former Indian Cricket Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni exercised his voting right in the by-poll for the Hatia assembly constituency on Tuesday.
Accompanied by his parents, Dhoni visited his alma mater, Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shaymli, to cast his vote, as reported by official sources. A substantial electorate of 4,02,181 individuals is eligible to vote across 425 polling stations. The poll features 29 candidates, including the brother of Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, contesting the seat left vacant by the late Congress MLA Gopal Sharan Nath Shahdeo’s demise in 2010.
