The Haryana School Education Board, Bhiwani is gearing up for a change in High School education. The board has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Baccalaureate to enhance the quality of education in the state of Haryana.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a top international education board that helps students in many countries develop both technical and soft skills. The collaboration will provide government school students access to new modes of teaching that are adopted by the teachers at international schools. Apart from these initiatives, the Chairman of the Haryana Education Board, Dr. V.P. Yadav, met Chief MinisterManohar Lal Khattar regarding the agreement signed between state Education Board and International Baccalaureate. Under this MoU, teachers from both government and non-government schools will be appointed as master trainers and selected candidates will be trained according to international standards. By improving the teaching level of the teachers, the Chairman said, students would be able to receive quality education in their home state. A total of four programmes will be conducted by International Baccalaureate and will be run on pilot basis in 20 schools in the first phase.
Based on the success of the programme, this will then be implemented across the entire state. Following this agreement with the International Baccalaureate, certificates of the Haryana School Education Board will now also be signed by the Swiss Board. Yadav said that earlier the students in Haryana often had to face a lot of trouble at the international level in order to pursue higher education. But now students will be able to easily get admission in international schools and colleges, because the International Baccalaureate (IB) is recognised by almost all national and international technical education councils and other organisations worldwide. The Haryana School Education Board has uploaded a sample paper, curriculum document, lesson plan, marking scheme as well as other pertinent documents on the board’s website to improve the quality of education.
