Mother Of Techie Atul Subhash, Victim Of Torture, Faints In Grief

“My son was tormented,” expressed the grief-stricken mother of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, just moments before collapsing during a media interaction while she spoke about her son’s suicide. Accompanied by her husband, she appeared clearly upset, while he remarked, “He (Atul Subhash) endured so much torment that he concealed it from us, not wishing to distress us. ”

Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old engineer from Bengaluru, sadly took his own life on December 9, and left behind a 1. 5-hour video and a 24-page letter. In these, he accused his estranged wife and her relatives of harassment.

The parents were left speechless as they shared their anguish with the media. When queried if it could be viewed as murder, his father stated, “Torturing someone is equivalent to killing. ”

Subhash, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh, was discovered deceased in his Bengaluru residence. In his letter, he named his estranged wife, Nikita, and her family for continuous harassment, which included filing false allegations against him concerning dowry demands, unnatural sex, and murder.

The letter detailed Subhash’s extended battle, which included legal disputes in a family court in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. It also detailed Nikita’s demands for substantial maintenance payments and her conduct during the court hearings.

Following a report lodged by Subhash’s brother, the police initiated a case against his wife and her family under sections 108 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act. Section 108 of the BNS Act, which pertains to abetment of suicide, is non-bailable.

In reaction to the harassment allegations, Subhash’s mother-in-law stated to India Today TV, “Atul Subhash has vented his frustrations on us. ” She dismissed the claims, asserting, “All these accusations are unfounded. I will provide all the evidence to the public. My daughter would never abet anyone to commit suicide. “
