Morning Tragedy in Delhi: Businessman Fatally Shot by Bike Assailants

A 52-year-old businessman, Sunil Jain, was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants in the Farsh Bazar area of Delhi’s Shahdara district on Saturday morning. The incident occurred when Jain was returning home after his routine morning walk at the Yamuna Sports Complex.

Seven to Eight Shots Fired

Police reports claimed the attackers fired seven to eight rounds at Jain. The authorities did not take a lot of time to step in, but the criminals managed to run.

A utensil business owner hails from Krishna Nagar, and Jain, a resident of Krishna Nagar, owned a utensil business. His family denies any known personal and business enmity, which creates an enigma for the detectives who are searching for their motive.

The Investigation Ongoing

DCP Shahdara confirmed that a crime team had reached the spot and an investigation was under way to identify and nab the culprits.
This sad incident has shaken the local community, more so because it comes at a time when another deadly shooting incident occurred in the same district just last month.

Incidents of this type in the past

In a similar attack last month, two people were killed and another injured in a shooting incident. A recent case of the Bambiha Gang was also reported in Rani Bagh, North West Delhi. In that case, members of the gang fired rounds at a businessman’s house and left behind a note claiming responsibility.

The recurring incidents have brought to the fore the rising gun violence in the capital, and locals want urgent action to stop such crimes.
