Moose Wala’s parents wait for justice

Monday marked the first death anniversary of slain Punjabi rapper and singer Sidhu Moose Wala.
In Jawaharke village, which is now known as Moosewala’s last ride, there are still marks of the bullets that pierced Moosewala’s body on May 29, 2022. Residents of Jawaharke village are still demanding justice for Moose Wala’s family. The village panchayat has planned to install a 30-foot-tall statue of the rapper in memoriam. On the occasion of the first anniversary, the entire village was decorated with posters of Sidhu Moose Wala and the youth took an active part in competitions wherein the iconic singer’s photographs were presented as mementoes to the winners.
Village sarpanch, Trilochan Singh, and former sarpanch Rajinder Singh Jawaharke said that the entire village has been painted in the colours of its late son. A large number of people from across India and abroad came to see the place of his last ride place and attend the memorial service, bowing their heads in deference to the paintings depicting Moose Wala.
Lakhwinder Singh Lakhanpal told this reporter that every village has been raising its voice in order to demand justice for Moose Wala. He also said that he, as well as the entire village, was standing alongside the parents of the slain singer.
