Monsoon session in Haryana Assembly to last three days

The Haryana Legislative Assembly’s monsoon session, slated to commence on 25 August, will last for three days and all the formalities have been completed. To ensure security arrangements are in place, a meeting with the Chandigarh administration and Punjab will be held on 24 August.
According to official information on Friday, the Assembly is expected to be in session for a period of three days. Notably, Speaker Gyanchand Gupta said on Friday that Haryana has started the e-Vidhan Sabha in a bid to reduce the financial burden of at least Rs 6 to 7 crore on the state exchequer each year.
Official information revealed that the draw of questions to be placed in the Assembly was conducted and as many as 59 MLAs asked a total of 655 questions on different issues. Out of these, 396 were starred questions and the remaining 259 were unstarred. It is pertinent to mention that a maximum of 60 questions can be accepted in the session. As many as 23 calling attention motions, four adjournment motions and a private member’s motion, a private bill and two short discussions have been received.
It has also been learnt that no complaint has come to the speaker regarding the remarks made by Maman Khan in the last Assembly session. Significantly, legislators from the ruling party have been raising questions regarding Khan’s remarks, which they say incited the violence in Nuh district.
