Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has predicted that the Narendra Modi-led government will fall in next one year, and his prediction will come true like his earlier predictions.

The former Congress chief made the remarks while interacting with the party leaders during the National Council Board meeting of the Minority Department at new party headquarters Indira Bhawan on Saturday.

According to sources, Rahul Gandhi said that Modi government is not going to last for more than one year.

The party insider said that the Rae Bareli MP cited the international circumstances that are taking shape and the way economic discontent is growing in the country.

He said that these issues will become the reason for his (Narendra Modi) downfall, the source claimed.

Rahul Gandhi, the source said, all the predictions he has made so far have come true. This one will also come true, he said.

The party insider also claimed that Rahul Gandhi said that wherever there is Congress government in states, it should help its workers and make them stand.

He also said that whenever there is any issue with Muslims, or Sikhs or women, the party will stand by them and fight for them, the source added.

When some leaders said instead of using Muslim word, minority should be used, Rahul Gandhi said that, no, we should not shy away from taking the name of whichever class or religion is being intimidated or threatened or injustice is meted out to them, he claimed.

Whether it is a Muslim, a woman, a Dalit, or an upper caste, we should mention its names, the source said quoting Rahul Gandhi.

The party insider also said that the leadership also said that if they have to counter the BJP’s communalism (Hindu-Muslim), it can only be done through issue-based politics.

The insider said that citing example, the leadership said that to counter communal narrative, it will have to be linked to the economic issues of minorities.

The source claimed that Rahul Gandhi also said that Congress’s former Prime Ministers had foiled the efforts of the BJP and RSS in the same way.

The Gandhi scion, according to the party insider, also urged the party leaders that if they need a ticket or Rajya Sabha berth, they need to come via Minority Department of the party that is led by Imran Pratapgarhi.

The party insider also said that some people during the meeting apprised Rahul Gandhi that they wanted appointment with him for the last few years and speak to him, but today (on Saturday) they got opportunity to interact with him briefly due to Minority Department national council meeting, organised under the leadership of Imran Pratapgarhi.

Some leaders also said that in Telangana, Asaduddin Owaisi is being given preference by the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi noted this issue, the party insider said.

Finally, some leaders complained to Rahul Gandhi that he only raises the issues of minorities, but if other big leaders of the Congress don’t do it, many problems would end if they did.

The source added that Rahul Gandhi noted these points and said that he will speak with the party leaders about the same.
