Mob Fury in Nagpur After Speeding Car Hits Three, Including Child

A car accident occurred in Nagpur’s Zenda Chowk area on Friday evening, injuring three people, including a child, after the vehicle struck them. The Nagpur car accident incident led to the car being vandalized by a mob. Police swiftly detained three individuals, including the reckless driver, in connection with the incident. Authorities reported that the injured victims—a woman, a three-year-old child, and another person—were receiving medical treatment. The accused underwent medical examinations, and legal proceedings were initiated to file a case against them.

Meanwhile, in Pune, a tragic accident involving a 17-year-old boy driving a Porsche claimed the lives of two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh on May 19. A local court remanded the six accused in the case, including the teenager’s father, to judicial custody on Friday. Despite police requests for an extension of their custody, the court ordered them into judicial custody. Subsequently, the investigation was transferred from the Yerawada police station to the crime branch.

In a significant development, the parents of the deceased IT professionals urged the Supreme Court to oversee the investigation and requested that the trial take place in their home state. Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar confirmed that there was substantial evidence implicating the juvenile as the driver of the car.

“We have CCTV footage showing the juvenile consuming liquor in a pub… He was fully aware that his actions could lead to a fatal accident, resulting in culpable homicide,” stated Amitesh Kumar.

Responding to reports of the juvenile being served pizza after the incident, the commissioner clarified that no such party occurred in the police station. However, he acknowledged an internal investigation into the matter.

“It has been established during our investigation that the juvenile was behind the wheel. We have collected comprehensive evidence, including entries from the security register indicating his departure with the car,” Amitesh Kumar affirmed.
